Barrie Osborne - Day 74
yeah, this update is late, so slag me.
i've figured out umbrellas are pretty much useless when you have weather that goes rain-shine-rain-shine all in the time frame of one hour. i walked through a shower of rain to board the train at my station. when i reached my work stop there was sunshine. sheesh..
i got into work at about 12.20 having given up all hope of meeting Barrie Osborne. i went into the back roo to dump my stuff and while i was in there i heard a commotion from outside, so i got out and looked into the scaling booth and did a double take. grabbed Hida's arm and went "is that who i think it is?!?!" IT WAS!
Barrie Osborne in the LOTR Exhibition!!! he was trying out Scaling. bleh and then Channel NewsAsia took him out for an interview before he left. so i grabbed my LOTR notepad and a pen and dashed out after them. he was leaving as soon as the interview was over, so the minute they called 'cut' i jumped in his path and asked for an autograph. oh Primus above, i was so fangirly!!
BUT I GOT BARRIE OSBORNE'S AUTOGRAPH!!! EEEE! SQUEEEE!
and oh fragging Primus!! the crowd yesterday was INSANE! so. many. people. from about 1pm till about 7pm we could do nothing but patrol a small section. i was stationed at Boromir again which is not so bad an area in some ways, but is also the worst area in other ways - mainly cos thats the most crowded area of the entire Exhibition.
between 6.45 and 7pm i caught 4 cameras! SLAGGING HELL cant these people READ?!?!
i got off work at 7.30 but decided to hang around till 10pm for Clarice to finish her shift so during that time i was walking around the eco-biology section of the Science Center and checking out stuff. that section is pretty cool. then we went out and saw the fire-eater do his stuff. *yawn* he was ok but i've seen more spectacular stuff at the Kandy Perahera..
managed to get some writing done in the train too.
oh and yay! my long-time pen pal from Brunei's coming down to visit for three days, for the Exhibition. so she arrives Tuesday afternoon and leaves on Thursday. Wheee! i'm so looking forward to it!
