The New Choir
this may sound strange, (then again almost everything i say sounds strange) but sometimes there's nothing more satisfying than stretching your vocal chords to the point where you feel like they're going to snap at any minute, all the grand scheme of trying to hit a high note.
strange? told ya so.
anyways, what i'm really getting at is that today was my first day in the new choir - the 11am choir, the BIG choir. yea so you may think 'big deal, so what? its just another choir'. HA! i pity you clueless person. its NOT just another choir. its THE choir THE CHOIR. It is one of the best choirs in the country.
getting into this particular choir is like trying to get into, Primus, i dont know, Oxford or Harvard or something - not everyone makes it in. the best thing about it though? i was ASKED to join. thats like, slagging hell, receiving a scholarship or something. hehe, so yea i was pretty excited.
and damn it was good. finally part of a real choir. and maybe it was newbie luck or something but we had a visiting priest today and just before the mass ended he said that this was one of the best choirs he has ever heard and that we should be singing on an international level. to get a compliment like that on the first day? i sure felt good after that.
it just feels great to really stretch those vocal chords and hold notes till you feel like you're gonna bust a lung. there's a little thrill that comes with it. and who says you cant burn calories while singing? not true! c'mon, most of the time you're standing up straight and keeping your stomach firm in order to push the maximum amount of air out of your diaphragm.
the people?? mreh, i dont really know. i'm there mainly to sing, not to try and be Ms Popular. all i know is that i'm being myself and i know i can hold my own. i'm open to new friendships, but if no one wants to be friendly, scrap 'em. i'm not worried. *points up to Diary title*
alrighty, apart from that, Dad and i took Clarice down to Bras Basah to get her that Van Helsing movie guide. before we actually got there however, we pit-stopped at Sakura for lunch. i swear they shold give me a loyalty card for all the times i eat there and the business i give them. lol! and yes, as expected, C started drooling over the book. thought i'd have to go find a bucket or something.
