Sale! Sale! Toy Sale!
women and sales... not always a good idea to put the two together..
So yesterday was choir again and i finally got my stack of music scores which wound up filling two files. mreh.. now i've got to carry these every sunday plus my hymn book. gah! it would have been better had not my cough started acting up again. and then warning bells went off that it could possibly be that time of the month again.. argh!!
and add to the fact that after the main practise session they all stood up to sing the Singapore National Anthem and i stood there like a dumbass cos i dont really know it.
mreh... i'm not good with National Anthems. i grew up in Sri Lanka and i still struggle with that one. National Anthems make me uncomfortable somehow. maybe its because of the fact that tho i live in a particular country i dont necessarily belong there. hmmm.. ah well..
i decided to stop by at home just as a precaution and its a good thing i did cos when we got out of church it was pouring with rain and it was c-c-cold. so when i got home i changed tops and switched my slippers for sneakers. i also dumped my music stuff. phew.. during that time the rain ceased a bit, so C and i set out again - Destination Clarke Quay.
after a McD's lunch.. bleh.. we headed straight into the main building itself. i was also searching for a present for Fiona's birthday and i may have found one.. we'll see how the funds go. alot of the regular table sellers were missing yesterday so there wasnt really much to look at. except for this one guy who was selling a few LOTR Figurines at dirt-cheap prices, like between $6-$10. O.O *blink blink*.. mreh.. i finally got me a Boromir.
Then i went after my Alternators Bluestreak (ok so the Japs call him Silverstreak, same diff)... had to bargain my ass off but finally the guy agreed to sell it at $52 from $55. better than nothing i guess, and now Alternators Sideswipe has some company =).. RELEASE ALTERNATORS JAZZ ALREADY!!!
Jean gave us the heads up on a toy sale at Takashimaya, so after we were done with CQ we went down to Orchard Road. i thought she meant the Taka department store so we went up to the third floor... there was like a sort-of sale going on but nothing grand. so we headed down to Basement-2 cos i had a hunch.
the hunch proved correct. there was like a MEGA Toys sale going on in the atrium there so C and i rushed down to see what was up for grabs. hehe... C always gets the good bargains man. this was the ultimate bargain for her i think: Van Helsing figurines going for $2.. two friggin' dollars!!!.. Naturally i had to pinch her a couple of times to convince her she wasnt dreaming.
Man they even had the Deluxe Fellowship gift set, with the One Ring and Map of Middle Earth going for $40, down from $130... i nearly keeled over, but i couldnt get it cos i was short of cash and i'd vowed not to spend my Coronation Gift Set money. *sniff*... anyways, after C paid for her stuff we went over and sat on the stairs to wait for Jean to arrive.
when Jean finally got there, she gave me this amazingly cute little Eowyn pin she'd gotten in the UK. EEEEEEEEE!!! and i gave her her b'day prezzie.. lol she loved the ROTK cap! yay! go me!! Then after we'd chatted a while, we went back into the Toy Sale and C got another Van Helsing toy she was looking for. Lol, damn this girl and her luck! The FOTR Gift Sets were selling out too. *sigh*.. then we went to look for Jean and found her carrying a stack of stuff. Aww bless that girl, SHE BOUGHT ME THE FOTR GIFT SET!!! SQUEEEEEEE!
ahhhh i'm a happy bunny now =)
