Thank You For The Music
and the Glory, the Glory of..

uhh.. woops, hehe.. guess i've still got choir in my head, what can i say, i love to rehearse.. well sometimes. Anyways, as today was Feast Day, (for non-Catholics, today was the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary), that meant the choiristers (members of the choir) got to dress up - sorta. well as i'm still a new member i havent gotten my nifty maroon and gold (why does that remind me of Lightshow for some reason?) choir-gown yet, i was stuck to wearing a black skirt and white shirt. oh there's nothing wrong with it, everyone has to wear black and white under the gown, but i just wish i had a gown to go over it. hopefully they'll make one for me by Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, we've officially started the X'mas practises now and our first hurdle is a very tricky little glitch of a piece. its 4-part harmony of course and while i have nothing against 4-part harmony - i actually enjoy doing it - this particular one is filled with a whole slagload of different cues. this means, not only do we have to watch our own notes, we have to keep an eye on the notes of the other sections so that we'll know when to come in again.

And when each group tries to do this, quite naturally, everyone gets confused resulting in total chaos. ah well, but i like chaos, and i have a feeling we should be ready by December.. its just the getting there that has me worried. and we havent even gotten to high A note yet either. oh the fun-ness

and its confirmed now, i AM a Descant. i dont mind though cos now that i'm comfortable with all those crazy high notes i'm starting to like hitting them. its a challenge.. mwahahaha! and because there are so few Descant - about 8 to 10 of us in total - i'm starting to get to know a few of the other girls. dont think we'll be hanging out at the movies just yet, but its a start.

The Mass itself was cool. we sang A Cappella for Communion. only one thing i love more than singing 4-part harmony, is singing 4-part harmony acapella. we sounded great i must say. people downstairs kept turning around and looking up at us. *feels proud* do i regret changing choirs? Slag NO! this is a helluva lot cooler.

but i want my gown fraggit!!!
