11:09 p.m. - 2004-08-28 that would translate to 'i'm working again'. Last night Ross from SSC called me up and asked if i could come in to work today (Saturday), two days ahead of my scheduled hiring, which is monday. it was fun though, mainly cos it was a saturday and everyone was taking things easy. was only me, Lai San, Jane, Ross, Roger and one or two others in the Events Office. oh, and why did they need me? to help write up forms to be used for the NJRC interviews next week. hey, its writing, no sweat. we pretty much sat around in one of the conference rooms, listening to the radio, watching TV, cracking jokes at each others' expense and writing the forms. Except that i had to pull a Hobbit for the first half of the morning. while i was walking to the SSC, just before i crossed the road to go in, my slagging shoe broke! well the straps came off and without them to hold my foot in place, my foot kept slipping off the shoe. so once i got into Events i walked around barefoot. teehee. good thing the whole place is carpeted and the people are so laid back that they dont mind. when we went out for lunch i got myself a new pair AND I FINALLY GOT TO TRY OUT THE SEGWAY!! For those of you who dont know what a Segway is, i cant describe it. Google the keyword 'Segway' and you'll see what i mean. Roger was kind enough to show me how it worked and let me have a go on it around the office. i was a little scared at first as i have zero balance once i'm off my own two feet. but after a little practise its real easy! your own body positioning controls its movement. very cool man! After we were done at the SC, Lai San and i headed down to City Hall for the meetup at the Dome inside the Art Gallery garden. it would up being just Krist, Lai San, Fatimah, Zack and myself, but that was enough. once again we ended up making the most noise. there were of course the dirty, lurid jokes made at everyone's expense. its standard fare really - if you hang out with us, prepare to be humiliated very badly. hahaha and damn these people can eat. well the Dome's kinda expensive so i wound up having the cheapest thing on the menu which was quite filling anyways so i didnt need to order more. the others however, Krist in particular, wound up having 3 to 4 rounds worth of food. O.O where on earth do they put all of it?! we parted at about 9.45. the rest were going to a club to see Melvin and Ridhwan but i decided to head home... after a stop at Raffles City mall. Robinsons has new Ponies!! SQUEE!!! but i was only able to buy Rainbow Swirl since she was purple and the last piece left. thus i now have new additions to my Wishlist. Gaaaaah! hurry up and pay me already!!
