7:53 p.m. - 2004-08-30 granted NJRC is NOTHING like LOTR, but it feels great to be out of the house and back at work actually DOING something with my time, despite the 6am wake-up. plus, i'm making money. so what do we do everyday? come in at 8am, have a briefing and breakfast ^_^ - today we met some of the newbies who're working as team coordinators with us.. there's a girl Jennifer, a guy Joey and another girl and guy whose Chinese names i cant remember. and they're quite nice though the guy is rather nerdy. during the briefing we're each put in charge of an interview room and the corressponding school teams that will be going into that room at about 9am we head down to Maxwell Auditorium and get ready for the schools to arrive. so all of us are ready, our rooms are set up, we're all ready with our schedules.. and then we laze around for about an hour cos the schools are late and theres nothing to do. then all at once schools start rushing in and the order of the schedules goes out the window. so for the rest of the day we do nothing but rush back and forth from Maxwell to our respective interview rooms and back with one team after another. each team mind you consists of five kids. so we have to babysit them outside the rooms while the other team finishes their presentation to the judges. now some of these kids are very sweet and well-behaved.. others can be right little terrors! at one point i had to watch 10 of them at one go! jeez that was a high-stress moment. but as fun as the job is.. its murder on the legs. for me in particular, i have to run up and down three flights of stairs for Primus knows how many times for the day. on the plus side its good exercise and maybe by the end of the two weeks i'll be able to take a few inches off my thighs. Zack is still an asshole... heh... and my Gawd are some of those little kids vulgar! from using downright hard cusswords to sticking their middle fingers upto video cameras.. sheesh man.. and these are all 3rd to 6th grade kids. *facepalm* what on earth are they learning in schools these days? all in all it was still a fun day.. gotta have alot of energy for it though so thank goodness i have alot of bottled energy from the last two months of pure idleness. if only i didnt have to wake up at 6am tomorrow....
