A Little Bit Of Jo-Logic
hrem... time for a little (as Sid likes to call it) Jo Logic and believe me i havent done this in a long time.

our topic today mechs and femmes (or boys and girls to those who dont speak TF) is that wonderfully controversial subject of - drumroll please - religion.

dear Primus, now what could have got my circuits all a-buzz about THAT?! simply, this:

are all christians more sentimental? seems so. i guess as christians, we are more sentimental.. more understanding and mature in our thoughts. anw.. juz hope all the christians arnd me will live in the love of the lord and be happy always =) well.. sometimes it's okay for me to get hurt. coz i know.. we're living for the Lord! no matter wad happens.. i'll strive always to keep my conscience clear bfore God and man.

Now, before you all come running after me with pitchforks and label me an anti-christian, let me first say that i'm a Catholic and i love my religion. yes, it has its flaws, and yes there are some things about the Catholic faith i dont see eye to eye with, but on the whole, the core principle is something i agree with, and yes, i'm happy to be a Catholic. i mean i sing in the church choir for goodness sake and i love it!.

but i digress... back to the topic at hand.

does being Catholic/Christian make us "more sentimental.. more understanding and mature in our thoughts" than any other religion? Slag no! the writer of the above comments wonders why the world is such an evil place? frankly speaking, its because of comments like that. all it takes is one little comment like that to be mis-interpreted by the wrong group of people and before you know it, there's a whole sparking war going on.

so yea, i maybe a fully born and bred Catholic, but i dont really think Catholicism is a more superior religion to all others, cos frankly, when you really think about it, most religions worship a god/goddess/whatever, who tells us to love. Buddha, Jesus, Allah, Krishna, WHOEVER! their number one message is simply just "Cant we all just get along?" not "Ooh look, my teachings are better than your teachings".

So grow up people, just because you're Catholic, Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, yadda yadda yadda, doesnt mean you're smarter, or more mature or more understanding than the rest of us. i know Catholics who can be total slag-headed idiots. at the same time, i know a pagan (yes Ivy, thats you) who is one of the most amazing people i know. my best friend is a Buddhist and she's alot brighter and more understanding than some Christians i know.

being super-religious doesnt make you a better person. trust me, i know women who hugs the pillars of the church, and later go out and start gossiping about other people's affairs. so basically, before you go out and preach to others, take a good long look at yourself first and ask yourself what your flaws are.

moving on... why do people wanna attract attention? why do people wan fame and popularity... why do people wanna be as smart as others? why do people wanna be "equal" to others? why cant ppl juz lead a simple happy life? why do people put on a mask? why do people lie to get wad they wan? why do people juz wan the best for themselves and dun care abt others? w h y ...

for the first three questions... such is life dear girl. its survival of the fittest. much as we humans like to see ourselves as the most superior species, it all comes down to basic primal instincts: survival. and in today's age, "Survival" has many meanings, not just life and death. Survival in Show Business, survival in school, survival in the corporate world. its all about survival. as nature dictates, only the fittest can survive, thus each person's quest to be the best they can be...

in a herd of zebra, its only the fastest and strongest who will live to see another day. the old and the sick more often than not become lion-chow. sound cold? tough, thats life. if some humans did not strive to be the best of their game, we'd still be living in the stone age.

"Why do people wanna be equal to others? why cant ppl juz lead a simple happy life?". To lead a simple happy life, one has to be equal to others. this world is evil because of its inequality. Girl, if our ancestors did not fight for equal rights for women, all human females would be stuck at home washing dishes or knitting. you wouldnt even be in school.

"why do people lie to get wad they wan? why do people juz wan the best for themselves and dun care abt others?". here's a newsflash: God (and i mean all of them) gave humans the gift of free will, to make our own desicions. and like any gift, it has its pros and cons. we're never satisified with the gifts we are given, no matter how good it is, we always want something that someone else has.

we're never satisfied with how we look, we always want to look like that supermodel on tv/in the magazine. we're never satisfied with the job we have, we wanna get the other person's position. we're never satisfied with our own talents, we always envy someone else's... its like what Tolkien wrote about Elves and Men. neither race understood, nor appreciated the gifts they were given, each envied the other race's gift (i'm not going into detail about that here, its too long, but if you want to know, please contact me and i'll tell you).

why do people do all these things? because of what i said before: survival.

little girl, you're only 15 years old, you still have alot more to learn about the world and how it works. you maybe a Christian, but you still lack the understanding and maturity to understand sometimes why it is that people wear a mask, and why the world needs equality. being sentimental means accepting, respecting and loving other religions just as much as you love your own.

hopefully, you will learn all this as you get older, and - i sincerely hope - wiser.
