10:04 p.m. - 2004-11-21 our first mass was at 11am and we had a Filipino priest conduct the service. good priest btw, very interesting to listen to. plus he acknowledged the choir, which is always nice because i know most of the congregation tends to take us for granted. still, when i sing, i always put my heart into it. singing is a part of me, and i'd hate to do a half-hearted job when it comes to doing something i truly love and enjoy doing. besides, i sing for God too, and thats always a nice thought. after mass was over, Bernard cut us some slack by cancelling practise today so that we could all go and rest... heh, me? rest? dont think so. i headed down to RC. however when i got there the place was still closed so i called up Gary. turns out the guy had been partying all night and was still asleep when i woke him up.. and good thing i did too. so he rushed down to open the store... he'd had a little too much to drink the night before and had been throwing up in the early hours.. poor guy... feel sorry for him cos, despite his smoking habit and occassional drinking, and the dreadlocks, he really is a decent guy. so tried to help him out as much as i could. at 5pm i headed back to church to sing for the Confirmation mass, since the Archbishop was coming down and all. the mass went on for two hours, we pretty much stood and sang for about 1 and 1/2 hours of it. at one point we were singing 5 hymns in a row. gyah.. no time to sit down, or take a breather, or drink water, nothing. at one point you could tell that everyone was straining, me included. still i know we did well.. the effort was there and we sounded good.. though now my lungs are strained, my vocal chords are close to snapping, diaphragm muscles ache and voice is a bit hoarse.. yet, for the rush that comes with singing your heart out like that, i wouldnt give it up for anything. and damn i love my choir-robe. its just so comfy and nice and it just looks that slagging good. *hugs her robe* its just beautiful.. nice and shiny auburn and pale gold and at least i didnt screw up on the cashier system today... work tomorrow i think... ugh...
