3:52 p.m. - 2005-01-30 what can i say.. it was just one big day of screw ups during mass... hehe.. it was pretty funny though.. it all started with the responsorial psalm.. basically we have to sing about one or two lines.. we dont have music or notes to look at, and we usually practise it like 5 minutes before mass starts.. most of the time we ace it. today's one just happened to be rather tricky when it came to hitting the right notes, as a result, we wound up hitting a few wrong notes.. like going high when we should have been going low. then Greg, our cantor, flubbed up some words when he was singing the solo readings... Bernard played a few wrong notes on the organ a little while later.. and Father John accidentally went and said "Ash Friday" instead of Ash Wednesday while reading the announcements... oh and, just before the Gospel Acclamation, some old gentleman in the congregation fainted and collapsed, so Robert had to make a quick request for any doctors in the congregation to go attend to him... ahhh the craziness.... learnt alot more new pieces today.. including one nice, simple Scottish traditional... sounded lovely.. and the Latin.. ah the Latin.. finally getting the hang of it. Tu es Sacerdos and i KNEW we'd be doing Handel's Hallelujia Chorus for Easter... the whole slagging thing... all 8 pages of it!!! GAH!!!! i am looking forward to the next two sundays, eventhough it means i'll be giving them up... we're finally gonna get to sing outside our own church.. and with another choir.. we're joining the Immaculate Heart of Mary church choir to sing for the Rite of Election on 13th Feb... so next sunday we get to go over to practise.. should be cool.. meeting another choir, singing in another church.. yes i am looking forward to it..
